The Hawaii Theatre Young Actors’ Ensemble
- the talented troupe of high school actors from across O`ahu
- delivers this delicious comic romp as courtiers hide out in the
forest of Arden. Noble young lady Rosalind loves Orlando. To observe him
without his knowing it, she disguises herself as the boy, Ganymede, and
launches all kinds of not-so-courtly mayhem while teaching Orlando the finer
points of how to woo his lady (herself!) In the meantime, Phebe, an
importunate shepherdess, falls in love with the beautiful Ganymede, much to
the distress of Silvius, the simple shepherd who adores her. The comic
subplots turn and twist, ultimately resolving just “As You Like It.”

Hawaii Theatre
Center Discover! Series presents
THE PUNCHBOWL MUSIC FESTIVAL
April, 2011
In sweet music is such art,
killing care and grief of heart...
- Shakespeare
In 2006, through a grant from the
Hawaii State Foundation on Culture & Arts, the Hawaii Theatre Center was
able to host, for the first time, the 4th Annual
PUNCHBOWL MUSIC FESTIVAL.
This festival brought together neighboring schools; Central Middle School,
Kawananakoa Middle School, and Stevenson Middle School; together in a
professional setting which allowed for comfortable attendance of family,
friends, and faculty.
The
PUNCHBOWL MUSIC FESTIVAL
features both "Beginning" and "Concert" bands from each school as
well as a Beginning and Concert "Honor Band" comprised of students from each
of the schools.
In our historic professional venue,
these students are afforded the opportunities of musical performance as well
as social interaction with other students in a safe and professional
setting. The Hawaii Theatre looks forward to once again hosting the
PUNCHBOWL MUSIC FESTIVAL for
its 6th Anniversary!
