In recognition of National Military Appreciation Month, the Honolulu Council of the Navy League, the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band and the Hawaii Theatre Center will host the 32nd Annual Combined Military Band Appreciation Concert on Saturday, May 20th, 6:30 PM at the historic Hawaii Theatre Center. Seating will be on a first come, first served basis.
National Military Appreciation Month encourages U.S. citizens to hold observances during the month of May as a symbol of patriotic unity, to honor current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as those who have died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.
This year the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band, under the leadership of Fleet Bandmaster Chief Warrant Officer 03 Bryan Sherlock, is the lead military organization for the May 20th concert. The Combined Military Band features outstanding instrumentalists and vocalists from each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, with respective conductors from all of the military service bands stationed on O’ahu taking up the baton for many patriotic selections. This special concert will feature musicians from the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Band, the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band, the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division Band (Army Music Hawai’i), the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific-Hawai’i, and members from the Hawai’i Army National Guard 111th Army Band.
Tickets are FREE and available at the Hawaii Theatre Center Box Office, located Downtown at 1130 Bethel St. (Hotel St. and Pauahi St.) during regular Box Office hours; Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
