This is not a concert, instead a recording session that will be filmed, while letting the audience sit-in and experience “behind-the-scenes,” the recording & filming process.

Hawaii Theatre Center hosts HI*Sessions for an intimate evening of acoustic music with multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winner Mark Yamanaka. A limited number of tickets will be sold to attend this special recording session where listeners will have the opportunity to experience first-hand how a recording session is produced, from a unique perspective sitting on the stage of the historic Hawaii Theatre. Seating for this recording session is open to a limited number of ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are on sale now.

Like a blossoming flower, Mark’s undeniable talent has been nurtured from a young age by renowned musician, composer and kumu hula, Johnny Lum Ho, whose traditions produced some of Hawai‘i’s most cherished Hawaiian falsetto singers like Darren Benitez and Nā Palapalai’s Kuana Torres Kahele. Like these contemporaries, Mark’s soaring voice is also perfectly suited for the specialized art of falsetto. He takes the teachings of Uncle Johnny and adds his own flair with enviable ease, then spices things up by effortlessly gliding into a rich and soulful baritone vocal.

A $3.00 Theatre Restoration Fee & Internet Fees apply to all ticket prices/purchases.

Children under 4 years of age not permitted.
