David James Archuleta was born in Miami in 1990 and is a singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist (piano, keyboards, and guitar), and actor. While his musical style can be broadly classified as pop, it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s best described as a blend of pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft), soul, and contemporary R&B (a genre that combines elements of rhythm and blues, soul, funk, pop, hip hop, and dance). He cites Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Kirk Franklin, Bryan Adams, Elliott Yamin, John Mayer, and Sara Bareilles as some of his influences. He’s had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, live albums, 1 compilation album, 6 extended plays, 19 singles, 15 music videos, and 1 video album.
